The term "near-death experience" (NDE) was popularized by Dr Raymond Moody in 1975 when he published his bestselling book Life After Life . Since then, he and others like Dr Bruce Greyson continued to study these remarkable stories of the other side told by people who returned to life after dying. These experiences have been reported for thousands of years from people all around the world and many share common characteristics. For example, NDErs often report feeling an unimaginable sense of peace and love in the afterlife, like they have never known before. Many also report experiencing a "life review" during which they feel, without judgement, the impact their actions in life had on others.
NDErs are generally significantly impacted by their experience. Their lives are often never the same. Many come back from death with different priorities including a strong desire to help others. They often have a keen understanding of how even the little things we do can have a significant positive or negative impact on others. Some talk about this as a "ripple effect" and how we have a choice in every moment of our lives to generate good ripples or bad ones. Listen to a few NDErs talk about this below. Our hope is that people will listen to these stories and feel inspired to create more good ripples.
